Chestermere bike park
« on: September 29, 2013, 02:20:50 pm »
Heres a project that's been in the works for a long time now. Started about 5 years ago now been through a temporary park and now were nearing completion of the permanent park, so thought I'd start spreading the word and getting everyone stoked on it. For those that have no idea where Chestermere is it's about 10 minutes east of calgary via 17ave or 16ave.

Heres a link to pictures of the park as of yesterday

Next volunteer date is oct 19 as far as I know if your interested in popping out to move some dirt PM me and I'll keep you updated as well as this thread.

It will all be worth it were hoping for completion by end of october dont know if it'll be done in time to ride yet this season but thats fine by me need the winter to put another bike together. But we could deffenitley use more support. Iv noticed everyones willing to conplain theres no parks but no ones willing to put in the shovel time.

that's pretty standard.
everyone wants all that their hearts desire, but aren't willing to get their hands dirty.
if work doesn't have me tied up, I'll be trying to get out to help you guys on the 19th. I don't even ride dirt jumps, but can put 2 hands on a shovel.
keep updating the Calgary rider thread on Pinkbike, don't be shy about it.

The park looks to be pretty amazing.  I'm not a DJ'er, but I'm tempted to give it a go with such a great park close to Calgary.
You aren't mistaken; this post was solid gold.

I was out in the area last weekend so I popped by to check this out.  The pump track is now open, and its super fun.  Easily the best pump track I've ever ridden, lots of lines and super easy to keep speed without pedalling.

Expert side wasn't open yet, but it looked like it was coming along well.  Once it's done I'll definitely be heading back out to Chestermere to try it out.

How's this going? I had no idea, good on you guys! I've been super choked since I moved here in the total lack of biking infrastructure

Rode Chestermere yesterday.  It's really fun, lots of unique lines and a couple big wallrides.  There are quite a few routes you can take to get to the big trick jump at the end.  Definitely worth a visit  :)
