Got the car ready for summer. Put on the summer rubber (Yokohama Fleva V710), did an engine flush (Liquimoly pro-line), changed the oil, installed a Kens Auto rear brace and a Racing Beat intake. The intake was a pain in the assay as the instructions were quite vague and the installation order described was wrong.

I have a Racing Beat front brace to install as well. The instructions say it's a quick installation but I don't see how you can slip the backing plates in with the control arms in place.

On Thursday, the poly mounts are coming out and Mazda Competition mounts are going in. At some point I'll install a set of Racing Beat headers as well and fix a pretty obvious exhaust leak.

The 3 is raw.  Lighter than more agile.  The 6 probably feels like a 747.  And by that contrast, my STI probably feels like the Hindenburg.  So GR's are like the International Space Station.

Mazda Competition mounts are in. Car vibrates a lot less at idle and the rearview mirror is again usable.

How do you find the Fleva's performance, specifically in the rain? I'm looking for some new summer rubber for the DD and they've caught my eye, haven't heard much about them though.

So far I like them but I haven't driven that much on them.

Installed a Racing Beat header. Had to reroute the O2 sensor plug as the wire wasn't long enough to reach the relocated bung in the header.

Car seems to run well. Not sure if there's much of a power increase but it sounds better.

Not a big fan of the Racing Beat intake. The intake tube is maybe 2 mm away from a brake line, and the filter is the same distance away from a headlight motor. Both are a little close for my comfort.

Imgur doesn't seem to let you upload without using their app so no pics.

Their mobile site is garbage. If you request the desktop version it's much more useable.

With no racing, the car is only driven occasionally. I haven't gone through a full tank of gas yet.

I'm itching to go ITBs. It's something I've wanted to do for years but never went beyond drooling over builds like this:

https://www.clubroadster.net/threads/winkyls-1990-b6-1-7l-itb-miata-build-updated-may-12-2009.18582/

I don't think I'd go as deep as this, but I think ITBs with streetable cams and some headwork would make for a reasonably quick fun car.

You should do it, so I can drool over your car. I'd love to do ITBs on the honda, but I've put zero research into it.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.

Brief update. Chikara Motorsports, a shop in Vancouver, is running a Maruha group buy. Seems like a good excuse to get Maruha ITBs, cams, valve springs, lifter conversion, CF cam cover and cut valve cover.

What is the plan for getting boost pressure through those ITB's??

I was just teasing, you mentioned above some light head work, is that still in the cards?

No, Chikara recommended not getting head work since I'm not bumping up compression or putting in a stroker kit.

Well I'm committed. I put a deposit down for:

Maruha ITBs
Maruha cams
Maruha CF cam cover
Maruha valve springs
Maruha solid lifter kit
Chikara catch can
Chikara cut valve cover

Well something finally happened with the car. I changed the coolant and the fuel filter, which seems to have made it idle better. Not a big thing, but it's a start to getting back into it.

I'm looking to get a roll bar this year so I can use the car at the track. What color do people think would look good? I'm leaning towards a gold or perhaps orange, something different than the standard black or silver options.
