Sorry to hear about the accident! I'll miss seeing that car on Stoney/114th on my morning commute but glad everyone's ok!

Like everyone else, glad you're ok....

... is it too early to be a vulture and ask what you're doing with that turbo back exhaust?  Keeping it for the next car?
I used to drive Subaru's.

Thanks everyone! I'm more than ever glad I drive a Subaru! This sort of thing is exactly the argument I used to convince my mom I needed to buy an overpriced bugeye back in the day ;)

Insurance adjuster estimated $16,000 in repairs, with used parts (not new Subaru parts). So definitely a write-off. Still seems a little surreal.

Lol... I'm definitely buying back the shell, since there are loads of virtually new or upgraded parts on it. I'll let you know what route I go with the G200, but I really am hoping to get another same-gen FXT. Whether it'll already have a TBE is the question. Luckily the impact is entirely above the frame so the exhaust is still mint.

Glad there was no serious injury.

I'm more than ever glad I drive a Subaru!

I've seen pics from a few Forester crashes (one black FXT on subaruforester.org was SEVERE) and it looks like they do very well.

Good call on buying back the shell.

Sad to see a Forester go down, but maybe you'll be able to find a Sports and it'll be an upgrade!

Oh man this sucks big time.  Your Fozzy was such a beauty!  Glad you're okay though, metal can always be replaced one way or another.

Situations like this really tick me off and I hate how we generalize them as 'accidents' when most are actual incidents.  It's not an accident when some dipshit isn't paying attention to the task at hand.  More drivers follow too close than not these days.  I was always taught to stay a minimum of 3 seconds behind the vehicle in front and of course the distance required changes with speed, barely anybody follows this.  Anyway so hard to avoid someone else not doing so.

Insurance companies no longer call them Accidents. Accident implies no fault, so they're referred to as collisions.

I was taught 2 seconds.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.
