Thanks guys! I'm absolutely loving the 2016 so far.. It's an absolute blast. Someone on Reddit commented rudely saying "Wow, talk about a downgrade from your '13 huh? Awful.."   I was kinda annoyed, because I don't think the person has ever driven either '13 or '16 Subaru's.

It feels incredible in the low-end 2000-3000RPM range, although I haven't brought it past 4k yet due to the break-in period. The suspension has also really impressed me.. it feels more "planted" to the ground than the stock '13 was. Merging onto Deerfoot/ Stoney .. even at 3.5k rpm's.. is a blast. It feels to have less body-roll/ weight transfer than the '13 did, and it really really really inspires confidence in the driver through the curves.

Everyone knows the interior is great, which I really like... although I really miss the "shutter" that covered the cup-holders in my '13.  The D-Shaped wheel is also very nice, and I love the interior setup with the gauges/ head unit/ hvac etc. Stereo is also pretty decent and the stock audio quality seems better to me. I have an upgraded Hertz amp + sub install coming soon which I bundled in with the purchase. I like the cloth seats too, they feel very comfortable and still very sporty with the red stitch all around! Ohhhhh and that fuel mileage!! Oh god, 650km's on a full tank!!! Planning to do some videos talking more about my thoughts on the car in the weeks/ months ahead!

Time for some pics...

Trunk LED's, w/ reverse..

Some really fancy interior canbus LEDs. The interior lights slowly dim/ fade out when they go out (when you get in / out of the car) and these transition very smooth without any stuttering in the fade..

I know you haven't had it for too long yet, but any more thoughts on how it compares to your 2013 sti? Would you say this is better in every way???  :O

People who say it's a downgrade obviously have no idea what they're talking about. The motor alone should be great peace of mind. But then again, there are a lot of people out there that buy the STI simply because of the 3 cherry blossom letters on it, and because they equate a higher price with a more premium car. There is a lot more bang for the buck in the WRX at the moment.

This new chassis is a lot more stiff, and handles the same as my GR STI did WITH aftermarket swaybars. So that says something right there  ;D

Personally, I would say that as a DD and occasional track car, it is better than a GR STI and a bit easier to live with.

I love it, I've definitely enjoyed driving it more than I did the '13.  Back when I bought the '13 was when the '15's were becoming more and more popular. I was on the fence between the two, in my mind I must admit I thought more than once "Ah, but it's a wrx... I want the top of the line, the sti."  It was quite impulsive when I picked up the sti, although that is really how I am with most things in life. The sti was a fantastic car and I truly loved that car too. I definitely miss it.  The first day with this WRX however I merged on from 18th Street in the south to Glenmore around a big clover ramp... and that was the day I realized things ain't so bad hahaha.. that was the first time I truly smiled and felt very happy, grinning ear to ear since I had the accident 3 weeks prior...

I mean - As a person who is enthusiastic about cars but isn't someone with much track knowledge (let alone any experience), the bottom line I have to say about the new WRX with the FA20 is:  It feels a whole lot more powerful driving it in the city. It reminds me somewhat of my bike, it doesn't feel as if it lags as my 2013 felt. When I put the pedal down at 2,500rpm in 2nd gear... It pushes me flat against the seat instantly.  That's literally my bottom line of this so far after 5 days and 500km's on the odo. I love it....... Now I wanna go drive hahaha...

Couldn't have said it better myself. And I, too, fall in the category of "I bought an STI because it's better than a WRX" back when I made the purchase. Looking back however, while I did love my STI a lot, I am a lot more satisfied with my WRX purchase and the increased amount of daily driveability it offers me.

Also, as a side note, merging with this thing on an especially curvy ramp is SO MUCH FUN. If you push it a bit, you can feel the brake vectoring kick in and it feels very planted (like it's on rails). Now imagine what some coilovers would do for the handling...  ::)

Went for a drive tonight. When I look at it from the front, I miss the big wing. When I look at it from the back, I love it without..  ;D :sarcasm:

Also, I didn't realize how audible the turbo is as it spools up (especially if you have no music on)... It's very satisfying!!   ;D ;D

I tried to stay within the 4k limit myself, but at times it was impossible. You can still hear the turbo spool even below 4k RPM. Just wait for cooler weather  ::)

Still looks way better than the GR/GV.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

I still prefer the look of the GR/GV, but those headlights look amazing. If there had been a hatchback version, my write off could have also ended with a new model purchase as well.

You looked pretty sharp just sitting in traffic yesterday! Glad things are working out so well for you bud  ;)

Thanks man, haha.. I was looking ahead then suddenly felt the Subi rumble and look over to just see the back of your car lmfao! You can hear the subi' before you see it ;D ;D

I was quoted $370 for full tints done, (8 windows), but think I'm gonna hold off. Instead of putting money into the little cosmetics (like tint, jdm rear fog, mudflaps), I can add the value of all those smaller mods up and purchase something a bit bigger like the nameless muffler delete (or 5" like Sunny has)..

Today will be my first fill up, about 500km's on this tank but I been driving a little heavy footed and I presume it being the first tank it's probably got something to do with it.

I'm very happy things have worked out for me, although I tell people it's not really worth it. I may be smiling/ happy now, but the 3 previous weeks after the accident were probably some of the worst in my life. I felt beyond itshay about so many aspects.. but, I don't wanna say I was "depressed" because that's far serious and I instead am always remaining positive about my life and what I've been blessed with.  It was certainly a very thankful thanksgiving this year for me and my family..
