Baseline with Shell 91.  Pulled a couple of fuses to force RWD mode and disable Traction Control.

Superchargers rock.

My brother just bought an F-Pace, and I think it's got the same engine. May have to take it for a spin when I get the chance!

Glad you found those fuses they clearly missed during PPI, sounds like how the car should come. ;)

Some proper charts instead of cellphone pics.

HP/TQ

Logged Manifold Pressure (via OBD) and tailpipe AFR.  Boost peaked at ~13.5psi.  Based on data from another run, the wavy-ness at in the boost curve is likely from some sort of Torque limiting mechanism, either through throttle closure (common in BMW), or diverter valve on the SuperCharger, or both.  The 380hp version used in the F-Type is the same engine/SuperCharger with different programming to *not* bleed off boost.

Manifold Pressure, AFR

;D They are available in RWD in the US, IIRC.  Oil sump capacity is much higher in the RWD model since it doesn't have a half-shaft going through it.  Pulling the fuses also forced a lowered rev limit. :(

Same engine.  They do have the option for the 380hp engine in the R-Sport model that is not available for the XE.  That'll likely change for 2018 model year.

Does this have the button that makes the exhaust fart and brap brap?

It appears the over-run crackle/pop that is programmed into the F-Type didn't make it to the XE.  Target market must be the grown-up types  ::)

The combination of Torque Converter, SuperCharger, and throttle mapping does make for snappy starts, if the need arise.   :D

OOf, I didn't notice that the revs didn't even get to 6.5k.

If you can program that in,  then I'll have my BMW over in no time!

Did some data logging with Torque App over the weekend.  It appears the ECM doesn't allow full throttle opening below ~5000rpm.  I guess that is one method of Torque Management (2010+ LGT does something similar to limit boost at low RPM).

Boost at the upper range is also being bled off.  Based on the results of several runs, the stock tune is made for higher octane than what Shell 91 can deliver :(

Big letdown. :( I thought Jaguar was on our side vis-a-vis whacking the throttle open and laying a smoke show across the Cars & Coffee lot into a pedestrian.
