All things come to those who wait.
So, a close friend told me turbo engines only last about 180,000K. Seriously?
I've peaked out on Stage 2, but aside from a couple of 1/4 mile runs and tuning on hill climbs, the old ECOBOX has had a pretty darn easy life.
But at that 180 point the AVCS filters started getting sketchy, so I figured when I pull the filters I'll refresh the rings.
On tear down, upper main rod bearings were done, thrust bearing done, bores glazed. Apparently I was producing somewhat more power than I had calculated?
Now finishing the build for a Dominator turbo, 272 cams, MW50.
My mechanic told me flat out, "You will use heavier oil from now on. 10W40 for daily use and you will use heavier oil for track days"
That's heavy Man! Far out!
